Tom & Sheila Prichard

About the Thomas L. Prichard CPA Scholarship: Tom was raised on a farm just north of Benton, Kansas, the sixth of 10 children. He graduated from Circle High School in 1970 and attended Butler in the early 1970s. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business from Emporia State University in 1974 and worked for an international CPA firm in Kansas City. He passed the CPA exam while in Kansas City. In 1977, Tom moved to Arkansas City to go into the accounting business with a classmate from ESU. In 1983 he went on his own and had a successful business until he sold it in 2007. Tom was one of the original investors in TCK Trust and Financial Advisors, Inc., the first independent trust company in Kansas. Tom and his wife, Sheila, have a son, Todd, who is a green beret in the U.S. Army, and a daughter, Leslie, who is a physician assistant. Because of his humble beginnings,Tom gives a lot of credit to his success to Butler. Not only was the cost right, but the quality of instruction was excellent. Tom attended three post high school institutions, and Butler ranks #1. Like most young people who are trying to find their way in life, Tom needed a place that could help him grow, and Butler filled that bill for him.
