The Schulzes, Hinnen, and Currie Presidential Gold Scholarship was established in 2012 in honor of Susie Schulze. This scholarship has grown over the years and now bears the names of Susie’s sister Debbie Hinnen, and Susie’s daughter Sherry Curry.
Susie graduated from S.B. Allen School of Nursing in 1955 when the entire program cost only $50. The students worked weekends for $5.00 per month, room & board, and uniforms. Susie worked in a hospital setting for 20 years then worked in nursing education for 10 years as Wesley and Butler Community College. Susie retired in 1986. Susie has her BSN and her MSN from Wichita State University.
