Impact

“We have long held the belief that the greatest gift one person can give another is a chance to make it on their own. Nothing damages the human spirit more than dependency, even when that dependency is the result of the well intentioned generosity of others. As sincere and tempting the motivation may be to make a better life for another, we believe insulating any person from life’s struggles, adversities and risks of failure serves to deprive the person from developing true self-worth and cheats them from the satisfaction that comes only from one’s own accomplishments. For this reason, we establish this scholarship not to improve or ease any recipient’s present situation in life, but rather to afford each a chance to change for the better and in their own way their own situation in life.” – Stewart & Denise Weaver
