Mal & Janice Shaffer

As staunch believers in education, Mal and Janice Shaffer established the Shaffer Family Scholarship with the hope of supporting the efforts of any young man or woman seeking to better their opportunity to realize the American dream. Mal served 30 years in the U.S. Army and after retiring as a colonel in 1986, he and Janice returned to her home town of El Dorado. Mal taught speech and coordinated fine arts activities in Butler’s fine arts department for 15 years.
