El Dorado Municipal Band

The El Dorado Municipal Band Scholarship in honor of Mr. Holem & Mr. Dace was endowed in 1993 by members of the El Dorado Municipal Band. Mr. Dace, who had been a member of the band since its formation in 1922, died as a result of a traffic accident in early 1983. Mr. Dace played the clarinet in the Municipal Band. Prior to being a member of the Municipal Band Mr. Dace was a member of the El Dorado Boy’s Band. Ralph Holem, who died in December of 1988, was a member of the municipal band for 58 years. He played the French Horn with the Butler Community College Concert and Pep band.
